The North Banks Rotary Club is the host organization for the Nags Head Woods 5K. The event is the longest running charity race on the Outer Banks, originally organized by Outer Banks Kiwanis Club. It has been a staple of the Outer Banks community for nearly 40 years!

Each year the North Banks Rotary Club raises money with this event and the Annual Lobster Fest Event in November. The net proceeds (including sponsorship contributions) from these events help the North Banks Rotary Club issue grants to local non-profit organizations. North Banks Rotary Club has donated over $120,000 to local non-profits organizations with its annual grant program since 2015.
